Angela Merkel Just Summed Up How We All Feel About Trump: “Sobering” and “Depressing”

The G7 meeting in Canada may have ended but there this has not stopped more revelation of what happened to show up.

The meeting was tense and  after the meeting, President  Donald Trump furthermore upset world leaders when he announced, via Twitter,

“Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!”

Angela Merkel reacted calling the decision to withdraw from the communique “sobering and a bit depressing.”

In an interview for German television, Merkel said that “The situation isn’t very nice.” She added, “I don’t think that ratcheting up the rhetoric is going to improve things.”

Merkel also said that she would continue to talk with the president despite her disappointment in his decision to further pull the United States away from the global community.

Merkel commented on Trump’s attitude saying, “Sometimes I get the impression that the U.S. president believes that only one side wins and the other loses.” She went on to explain that she prefers “win-win” situations.
