Football icon Diego Maradona called President Donald Trump a ‘chirolita’ — a word used in Argentina to describe something of low value.
Maradona’s application for a visa was turned down — allegedly due to an interview he took in his home country.
His lawyer Matia Morla explained: “When were about to get the visa, I said to him: ‘Diego, please, don’t speak about the USA.’
“And, during a TV interview, in the second question, they asked him: ‘What do you think of Donald Trump?’
“He replied: ‘He is a chirolita.'”
Maradona wanted to be present for the trial of his ex-wife Claudia Villafane in Miami in March.
