The voice of Princess Leia in Star Wars’ new show just cruelly mocked Kavanaugh’s accuser

Christine Blasey Ford was composed, articulate, credible, and her story was deeply moving when she testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee of Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of attempting to rape her.

The internet was shocked when Rachel Butera, the voice actor for Princess Leia in the new Star Wars: Resistance television series, posted a video of herself mocking Ford’s testimony and impersonating her voice in a calloused fashion.

HuffPost reports that Butera has since deleted the video but not before it had already spread. Her Twitter has since gone private. Presumably, Butera realized what a huge, career-threatening mistake she’d made by mocking a possible victim of sexual assault

The video itself is a shameful display of cruelty, in which Butera says Ford sounds like a “baby.”

“I sound like I’m back at that high school party; I can’t help it. I just have this kind of a voice, like a baby, even though I’m a doctor and I’m on this media circus, political stage, and I have kids myself, that I don’t know why I speak with vocal fry. But you can listen to my testimony and hear that a grown woman sounds this way,” Butera mocked.
