Melania Trump did not join her family for a weekend retreat to Camp David in Thurmont, Maryland stayed behind at the White House, CNN reports.
The continual absence of Melania from the public eye has given rise to a host of conspiracy theories from news outlets wondering about the current state of the Trumps’ marriage.
Though, she tweeted that she was “feeling great” and the media had been “working overtime” trying to figure out where she was and what she was doing.
I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing. Rest assured, I'm here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!

Earlier this month, Melania underwent surgery at Walter Reed House for issues stemming from her kidney. Although the operation usually only takes a day or so to recover from, the First Lady ended up staying at the hospital for the remainder of a week. The last time she was seen in public was on May 10th, when she accompanied her husband to greet hostages who had recently returned from North Korea with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
“The public had grown accustomed to seeing more of her for a period of time, especially with the state dinner, which she executed flawlessly, and her high-profile initiative rollout,” Anita McBride told Politico, who served as chief of staff for former first lady Laura Bush. “It’s natural for people to be interested in her and wanting more.”
Melania’s spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, said that speculation from the media is something the Trumps have grown accustomed to enduring. “Sadly, we deal with conspiracy theories all the time,” she said, “so this is nothing new, just more silly nonsense.”
