President Donald Trump said that many people wants him to fire special counsel Robert Mueller. The president was responding to a question about firing Mueller, who is investigation Russian election interference and possible ties between his campaign and Russia.
Trump said, “I think it’s a disgrace what’s going on. We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s really a sad situation when you look at what happens. And many people have said you should fire him. Again, they found nothing. And in finding nothing, that’s a big statement. If you know the person who’s in charge of the investigation, you know all about that––Deputy Rosenstein, Rod Rosenstein, he wrote the letter, very critical, of Comey…”
Trump went on to say he “did the right thing” by firing Comey, making a point of bringing up Rosenstein again.
He again denounced the Mueller probe as a “witch hunt,” saying again “we’ll see what happens.”
If @realDonaldTrump is thinking of using the FBI raid to fire Special Counsel Mueller or otherwise interfere with the chain of command in the Russia probe, we Democrats have one simple message for him: don’t.

There is absolutely no excuse now that Trump himself floated the idea of firing Mueller: every member of Congress who claims to care about American democracy must pledge to work to remove Trump from office if he tries to fire Mueller or pardon subjects of the investigation.

Trump's lawyers (other than Michael Cohen) must be freaking out about Trump's 15 minute rant about the raid on Cohen. Congress must step up immediately and #ProtectMueller Trump is a madman who might try to fire Mueller even tonight.
